About Lyn’s Medical Loan Closet (LMLC)
Lyn’s Medical Closet is a non-profit ministry started by Trinity Episcopal Church to provide durable medical equipment at no cost to the individuals in our community.
After much work and hours of collaboration, the LMLC opened in February 2018 and was named to honor the Rev. Lyn Stabler-Tippet, our rector who retired early due to illness. She was instrumental in beginning the work that resulted in the LMLC.
While Trinity Episcopal Church began this ministry, it has always been about involving community. Now it has grown to include other churches, with Grace Moravian Church opening a second day of operation on Thursdays, 1:00-5:00 .
We exist to support those in need of durable medical equipment without cost to those who are facing recovery from illness or accident.
Directions
We are located at the Jones Resource Center, 215 Jones School Road. To get to our storage, follow the circular one-way drive around the Resource Center and the Loan Closet is on your right. Look for Lyn’s Medical Loan Closet signs.
Loan Equipment
We loan equipment on a 90 day term that is renewable. The borrowed equipment is available regardless of income levels To be borrowed most equipment does not require a prescription from a doctor. Our equipment has been cleaned and repaired before it is loaned.
Some medical supplies are available, such as adult diapers. Equipment available includes:-
- Bedside commodes/Elevated toilet seats
- Walkers-folding and non-folding
- Rollators
- Wheel chairs- various types
- Hospital Beds
- Shower seats/tub transfer benches
- Canes-various types
- Crutches
- Hoyer Lifts
Donations
Donations of equipment and medical supplies, such as adult diapers, are accepted during regular open hours, and all donations are tax deductible. Please call us to determine whether we are allowed to accept specific non equipment donations. We appreciate a call if you are bringing equipment, so that we can be prepared to receive your donation. We also accept monetary donations with checks made out to Lyn’s Medical Loan Closet.
